Sergei Yankovsky, actor, director and screen writer

Sergei Yankovsky was born in Leningrad (Saint Petersburg) in 1978. Currently he lives and works in Moscow.

In 2004 Yankovsky graduated from the Saint Petersburg State Academy of Dramatic Art (the workshop of Professor G.A. Barysheva)

2005 – Sergei worked at the Workshop of the Honored Arts Worker of Russia Yuri Tomoshevsky

Being an in-demand actor, since 2007 Sergei Yankovsky has been also working as a concert and show director. He has already staged over 200 important cultural events including the Beijing Olympics Selection Ceremony at the Saint Petersburg Sport and Concert Complex, the 155th Anniversary of the State Unitary Enterprise Saint Petersburg Vodokanal at the Grand Concert Hall Oktyabrsky, 14th My Planet Prize Ceremony at Alexander Kalyagin’s Et Cetera Theater in Moscow and many more.

Over the course of his career Sergei Yankovsky has played many roles in different theater performances including:

2005 – as Iago in William Shakespeare’s Othello, directed by Yuri Tomoshevsky;

2005 – as Gurtovnik in Teffi’s Small Talent, directed by Yuri Tomoshevsky;

2005 – as Orpheus in Jean Anouih’s Eurydice, directed by Yuri Tomoshevsky;

2005 – A French Exhibition over 100 Years and The Grasp of Fate by Arkady Averchenko, directed by V. Glazkov

2007 – to the present day – as Rudolf Nureyev in A Jump into Freedom. The Story of Rudolf Nureyev, directed by A. Dezhonov

2008 – as Salvador Dali in Diary of a Genius, directed by A. Dezhonov

2008 – a solo performance I Want to Be Strong

2011 – as Vaslav Nijinsky in I Am a Clown of God. Nijinsky, directed by Y. Tsurkanu

2012 – to the present day – as Salvador Dali in The Crazy Life of Salvador Dali

2014 – to the present day – concert Travel Notes in collaboration with the composer Pavel Andreyev

2015 – to the present day – concert Hooray for the Everything New in collaboration with the composer Pavel Andreyev
